Raise awareness, reduce stigma, and drive policy change around critical perinatal mental health issues.
Become a sponsor and make a significant impact on the lives of parents and families in LA County and beyond, where 1 in 5 birthers suffer mental health challenges and only 6% receive treatment.
We are thrilled to invite you to sponsor an upcoming in-person event on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 9am-1pm at Wellnest in Downtown Los Angeles, titled “From Pain to Power: A Postpartum Mental Health Convening on Storytelling and Policy Change.”
The event is sponsored by Maternal Mental Health NOW, Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, Black Women for Wellness, the LA County African American Infant and Maternal Mortality (AAIMM) Prevention Initiative, and Claris Health.
We have confirmed Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell to join us in raising awareness, reducing stigma, and driving policy change around critical perinatal mental health issues. Through a documentary screening, interactive storytelling, a panel discussion, and networking, the convening will bring together 150-200 healthcare practitioners, professionals, community leaders, survivors, and policymakers to:
- Raise awareness and reduce stigma about perinatal mental health issues through storytelling;
- Educate participants about perinatal mental health challenges that disproportionately impact
- Black women, women of color and marginalized communities;
- Facilitate dialogue, connections, and solidarity among attendees;
- Drive community-led advocacy for policies and practices that support perinatal mental health.
Our goal is to raise $15,000 to make this event a success. We need your help to meet this goal: will you sponsor the Pain to Power Postpartum Mental Health Convening by making a donation? Event sponsorship levels are as follows:
- Title $5,000
- Presenting $2,500
- Community $250
As a sponsor, your name will be placed on all materials that publicize the event, and announced at the event itself. Each of our sponsorship levels comes with special benefits, outlined here.
Perinatal mental health challenges disproportionately impacts Black women, people of color, low-income and marginalized families due to barriers accessing culturally competent care, and costs the U.S. $14 billion annually. Early screening and treatment are key to preventing perinatal mental health challenges, along with public awareness and education. Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of parents and families in LA County and beyond.
