Are you interested in expanding your network and holding sacred space to celebrate and connect with other Black birth workers? We hope your response is a resounding YES! Pause, take a moment, and honor yourself. Come network with other care professionals serving the Black birthing community in Los Angeles! We welcome anyone serving the birthing community, including but not limited to doulas/birth workers, counselors, clinicians, home visitors, community health educators, medical providers, lactation educators, nutritionists, herbalists, and more.

We aim to increase the network of resources available to Black birthing families and build deeper connections with one another. Please join us for some conversation and connection in the community.

Upcoming Wellness Events for the Black Birth Workers Community:

  • Family Hike Meet-up - Last event of the series - REGISTER NOW
    • When: Saturday, March 9th from 9am - 12pm PT (event day & time subject to change due to weather conditions)
      • We highly suggest arrival 30 minutes early for light stretching, intention setting, and introductions!
    • Location: Griffith Park (exact meeting location will be provided in a separate email)

  • Wellness Retreat at the Tree Yoga Cooperative - This restorative day has passed - EVENT CLOSED
    • When: Saturday, January 13th from 1:30pm - 5:30pm PT
    • Where: 918 E. 60th St, Suite B Los Angeles, CA 90001
    • Ticket Price: $25.00
    • This event includes snacks, a meal, yoga, guided journaling exercises, a sound bath, and time to rest, restore, and connect! Spots are limited!

  • R&B Yoga at the Pluto LA Helipad - A time was had! - EVENT CLOSED
    • When: Saturday, February 17th from 9am - 10am PT
    • Where: 6100 Wilshire Blvd, #1700, Los Angeles, CA 90048
    • Ticket Price: $10.00
    • This event includes a yoga class followed by an optional meet-up at a local cafe. More details will be shared directly with those who register - Spots are limited!
    • Invite your family and friends for some Saturday morning movement!

Ticket and Refund Information:
All proceeds from ticket sales will be directed back to the LA County's Black Birth Workers' Enrichment Fund. If cost is prohibitive, please contact kimberly@maternalmentalhealthnow.org to discuss further. Please visit the BBW Community's webpage to learn more about the Enrichment Fund.

At this time, there will be no refunds available. If you can no longer attend one of the listed events and would like to donate your ticket to another BBW community member, please contact ivana@maternalmentalhealthnow.org.

COVID-19 Statement


Masking will not be required but we support any measures you need to take to regard your health and the health of those around you. Testing is encouraged. If you have had a positive COVID-19 test, been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or have any of the following symptoms, please do not attend the event. We will do our best to take measures to prioritize the health and wellness of all attendees, including providing masks, hand sanitizer, and options for social distancing.

  • Lost Sense of Smell/Taste
  • Fever greater than 100.4°F
  • Nausea/vomiting
